La artista
AINHOA DEL CÁRRE
(Madrid, 1971) Artista multidisciplinar y autodidacta.
(Madrid, 1971) A multidisciplinary and self-taught artist. After twenty years practising law, she decided to hang up her robe and embark on a journey of self-discovery which, in 2017, would take her to Vietnam to learn about indigo dyeing and other natural textile dyes. In Hanoi, the capital, she found her place. A second trip, this time without a return ticket, took her to the studio of the man who would become her master, the artist Tran Tuan, situated in a pagoda overlooking Tay Ho Lake. The identity contained for so long found there the ideal scenario in which to flourish, and in abstraction the vehicle she needed to express herself freely.
Whilst in an early phase mere expression – in its purest etymological sense – and the search for beauty were a necessity, today, from a different physical and emotional location, her interest focuses on exploring the relationship between territoriality and people.
Transit, landscape, maps and terms such as entropy, phenology and astro-cartography form part of her current world of artistic and intellectual inquiry.
